Admission is free, but as the museum is an independent charity run by volunteers, donations are welcome.

A small shop offers books and souvenirs for sale.  See here for a sample of what is available.

There is free parking behind the Queen’s Hall, and a paying (£1 disc) car park, with toilets, on Broad Street.

Unfortunately, as we are located on the first floor of a Grade II listed building, we are unable to welcome non-ambulant visitors at this time due to fire safety regulations.

The museum is able to accommodate visually impaired visitors and, if you can give us notice of your visit or make an appointment, we will ensure that members of the Curatorial Team are on hand to take artifacts out of cases and storage for handling.

We have a good selection of 19th & 20th Century publications as well as many files covering local history.  These can be viewed in our Research Room which is available for use by the public.
